This photo by @macsonthefly is a great example of what we’re looking for. We love the way it portrays everyone’s excitement at a fish brought to hand. (Even the dog seems stoked.)
Father’s Day is fast approaching, so we’re celebrating dads in the outdoors with photo contest on Instagram. If you’ve got a great image of a fly-fishing dad—it doesn’t have to be your dad—then you can win one of three great prizes.
Here’s how it works:
1. Find your best picture of a dad on the water. It doesn’t have to be your dad, but it does have to be your photo. You can submit a photo of yourself, your dad, your husband, a friend, and so on. Any image that captures the experience of a dad enjoying this sport that we love is eligible.
2. Post your photo to Instagram with the hashtag #flyfishingdads and tag @midcurrent. (You must use the hashtag and tag us to be eligible!)
We will accept submissions from today through Monday, June 9. After the contest closes on the 9th, we’ll go through all the photos posted and pick 10 finalists. Then we’ll let you vote for the three winners!
Here are the prizes:
First Place: An Orvis Clearwater Fly Rod Outfit of your choice
Second Place: A GatorGrip© New Fly Belt
Third Place Place: Scientific Anglers Amplitude Fly Line
We’ll also give away copies of Steve Duda’s book River Songs to two randomly selected voters at the end of the voting.
